Having a water regulator will allow you to control the water pressure in your RV. We highly recommend not using the cheap blue bullet shaped water filter. We use a two canister water filter system and the water quality is noticeably better. We also use a water pressure regulator with a gauge on it so we can see and set the pressure ourselves. Don’t waste your money on the kind that doesn’t have a gauge.
You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account. Fifth wheels and travel trailers range from 10 to 45 feet. Measure your camper to ensure you reserve a site that fits its size. KOA RV Sites are made to accommodate a wide range of camper lengths, but it’s still best to check the site’s exact length to that of your RV. If you have a trailer-style camper, make sure to include the length of your tow vehicle when measuring.

The average American shower uses over 17 gallons of water. To reduce the amount of water you use, you can try taking a navy shower. In a navy shower, you turn off the water except for when you’re intentionally wetting or rinsing your body. Most RV shower heads have a button that allows you to turn off the water without have to turn off the knobs (which would ruin your expertly tuned hot/cold ratio).

You can also just use a sani-damp to empty your RV’s grey water before moving on. As we discussed above, not all campgrounds have hookups. And campsites with full RV hookups are sometimes pretty darn expensive — like up to $75 per night or more, depending on when and where you’re traveling. There are also parks that offer cable and phone hookups as well as Wi-Fi services, though these are less common. These luxuries are not necessarily included, even in campsites that offer a full hookup.
What to Bring On Your RV Camping Trip
Partial hookups generally only include water and electricity hookups. These hookups are great because they allow you to use unlimited water as well as devices that pull more power like televisions or air conditioners. Campgrounds often offer two different levels of hookups for their RV campers. There are different electrical service levels that are offered at RV campgrounds. You will need to purchase some extra equipment if you do plan to spend much time boondocking.
At both places we’ve had shore power, varying from amp. We’ve also had clean drinking water going straight to our rig. When choosing a campsite, try to park your RV in the sun on chilly days and in the shade on warm days.
At most campgrounds, “Full Hookups” means you’ll have sewer, water, and electric hookups. It’s the sewer hook-up that often makes a campsite “Full Hookup.” Sewer hookups allow your waste to go right out of your RV through your sewer hose. When you don’t have a sewer hookup, waste will go into your black and grey tanks, and you’ll have to dump those at the RV dump station before they are full.
You should attach the elbow to the drain using the treads whenever possible. Place any support that is needed for your hose from your RV all the way to the sewer drain. Hooking up the electrical hookup is the easiest hookup that you will have with your RV and is basically like plugging something into the wall.
